Proud Parent
Let me say that when Drew was in the 3rd / 4th grade I had him "evaluated" by a couple of the professors at California Baptist College, as part of an after school program he was involved with. After the evaluation, one of the professors sat me down to review Drew's scores, and she told me that I "have a potential Einstein on my hands, and the hardest thing for me is going to be to keep him interested in school and not get board."
Anyway...Drew came home from school last week with his list of suggested classes for the beginning of his freshman year in the fall. Now like I said, I know he's a smart kid, and I know how easy school was for me, but OMG! Drew's classes were selected for him based off the following process: teachers make recommendations to the middle school counselors, the middle school counselors meet with the high school counselors and review the students file, the high school counselors use this information to place the student in the appropriate classes. So what classes to they enroll my "smart" child in???
Advanced Intro To Literature
Geometry
Honors Biology
Health Science
Spanish 1 (although he is currently taking it)
Animation
Baseball P.E.
Hello!!! He's a freshman! I took Geometry and Biology as a sophomore!
Anyway, for once I feel like those proud parents that gush over their children's mediocre accomplishments, only I think, like I'm sure they do, he's really a pretty smart kid.
